- to advance the aesthetic scientific and practical efficiency of the profession;
- to advance the science and art of planning and building by advancing the standards of architectural education, training and practice;
- to coordinate the building industry and the profession of architecture to insure the advancement of the living standards of people through their improved environment;
- to make the profession of ever-increasing service to society.
The Queens Foundation for Architecture, based in Queens, was establishedin 2017 to advance Architecture awareness through stimulating Architectural/Design thinking, formation of relationships and partnerships that encourage community engagement, and fostering an understanding of the built environment and architecture through K-12 educational programs and scholarships.
We sought to create an organization that could help create, support and grow the number of Architecture scholarships and public programs in Queens. We seek to raise public awareness and foster the understanding of the design process; to encourage students and the public to be innovative, transform lives and create a better built environment; to pave the way for students to pursue careers in architecture and its related industries; and to strengthen partnerships with the public and communities. As local community of architects, AIA Queens is pursuing community goals aimed at strengthening our connections with each other, celebrating our achievements and building relationships with others who participate in creating and improving our built environment. AIA members work together with business leaders, civil servants, allied professionals and members of the general public to improve Americas communities and improve the integrity, utility, aesthetics, and value of our built surroundings.
We are architects working together to create better places for people in our community. We cannot do this without your support. Every bid counts!
