Del Norte High School Athletics

Del Norte High School Athletics needs your help to continue their success on and off the field. Can we count on you to make the "winning" bid?

The Right Way, The Knight Way

Support the Knights in our efforts to compete during this school year! COVID-19 took away spring sports last season but we're staying strong and ready to adapt to the 2020-21 athletic year.

Del Norte High School is an inner-city Public High School, in central northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico, established in 1964 and is part of the Albuquerque Public School District.

DNHS competes in the New Mexico Activities Association 4A-District 6.

TEAMS YOU'RE SUPPORTING...

Girls Track & Field

Coach Andrea Kexel is in her 13th year with the program. Accomplishments during that time include:

- Set 13 new school records

- Qualified 94 athletes to the New Mexico State Championships

- Have had 4 individual and 3 relay state champions

- 9 alumni have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

Money raised will pay for team buses to track meets in town. These expenses are not paid by our district. Most of our student-athletes do not have their own cars or have available rides to the track stadiums. You will help our teams arrive to their competition!

Girls Soccer

Coach Drew Kexel has been with the program for 17 seasons. The Lady Knights reached the State Semi Finals in 2018 and have sent 5 girls to play at the collegiate level in recent years. Money raised will pay for additional equipment not funded by our district like soccer nets, COVID 19 team face masks, as well as recognizing our senior athletes.

Boys Soccer

Coach Clay Szenasi is going on his fourth year as head coach. He is also a school counselor at Del Norte High School. Money raised will go towards training and team building activities as well as additional equipment.

Boys and Girls Swimming

Coach Hitomi Gray is in her third coaching season. Beginner swimmers learn all four strokes and swim competitively at the meets. The girls relay team has qualified to state the past several years along with a few individual swimmers. Money raised will pay for new swim caps and end-of-season team awards.

Baseball

Coach Leandro Lovato has been with the program for the past 9 years. Money raised will pay for practice and game gear along with additional equipment as needed.

Cheer Team

Coach Carlos Abeyta is in his 5th year coaching at Del Norte. Money raised will help pay for competition uniforms.

Girls Tennis

Coach Jack Halpin has been coaching the team for the past several seasons. Most girls that join the team have never played tennis but were competitive through their hard work and desire to learn the game. Money raised will go towards their uniforms.
